In late July, the Bosnian political and media public was thrown into turmoil by a request made by delegates of the Croat Democratic Union HDZ ; , the strongest Croat party in BiH, and its coalition partner, the Croat Demo-Christians, to separate the public broadcasting service into three channels one each in the Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian languages. The request was made in the form of an amendment at a BiH Parliament session, during discussion on a new Law on the Broadcasting System, but was rejected by delegates of all other parties. The public broadcasting system consists of three televisions RTV Republika Srpska RTVRS ; , RTV Federation RTVF ; and RTV BiH, the all-BiH channel. Most Croats are dissatisfied with the RTV system as it is because they believe the two entity televisions are essentially a Serb and a Bosniak channel, while the joint RTV BiH is Serb-Bosniak. Therefore, the vast majority of Croats do not pay the compulsory RTV tax. Figuratively speaking, the difference between the three languages in Bosnia is like the difference between British, American and Australian English. It is, therefore, clear that everyone in BiH absolutely understands all three languages. The request for a channel in the Croatian language is therefore more of a political nature as the HDZ believes that, in addition to pure Croat language, the channel would also express Croat political interests, which the HDZ believes are now on the margins in the media. By the way, on Federal RTV and RTV BiH, which are multi-ethnic, each journalist speaks whatever language he or she pleases. HDZ's amendment on the creation of three channels in three languages did not pass socalled first reading. The amendment phase was supposed to last until September 10, by when the amendments voted on were supposed to be built into the law or rejected. The deadline was moved to the end of October. Some manufacturers report that their oximeters closely estimate functional saturation. However, dyshemoglobinemia can compromise both functional and fractional pulse oximetry readings.11 Co-oximetry can provide accurate fractional saturation readings, so care must be taken when comparing pulse oximetry readings to co-oximetry readings during dyshemoglobinemia. Carbon monoxide poisoning, which causes carboxyhemoglobinemia, is not uncommon in emergency rooms.72 Methemoglobinemia has been reported in series of infants and children.69, 70 Table 2 illustrates the magnitude of pulse oximetry measurement error that can be introduced by methemoglobin.

We confirmed that inflammatory stimulation of ECs leads to decreased ATP ADP hydrolysis via downregulation of CD39 ATPDase using thrombin, which was previously not tested in this regard. This reduced adenine nucleotide metabolism led to an increase of platelet aggregation when PRP was supplemented with supernatants from thrombin-activated ECs. In contrast, with supernatants of cells incubated with ADP S that is not hydrolyzed by CD39 ATPdase, platelet aggregation was not regulated. Effects of thrombin and adenine nucleotide metabolism were significantly diminished when HUVECs were cotreated with SVN or CVN; adenosine levels showed a concentration-dependent increase, whereas adenosine nucleotide levels were decreased. An increase of phosphate and pyrophosphate was correspondingly demonstrated. Platelet reactivity most likely was decreased as a result of decreasing amounts of ADP and the increase of the adenosine level. Direct effects of statins or thrombin on platelets are unlikely because these agents were removed from HUVEC cultures by aspiration of supernatants followed by washing of cells, before adenine nucleotides were added. ATPDases of quiescent ECs act synergistically to disperse platelet aggregates through degradation of ADP and ATP, 11 and cells activated with a pro-inflammatory stimulus or by exposure to polyunsaturated fatty acids, lose this function.13, 26 Our data suggest that thrombin may affect anti-thrombotic properties of ECs by deactivation of endothelial CD39 ATPDase, which can be prevented by statins. Via this mechanism, statins may reduce extracellular free ADP and ATP and, as a consequence, increase extracellular adenosine. Significant differences between thrombin- and thrombin- plus statin-treated cells were observed after time periods as short as 20 minutes, suggesting that this adenosine metabolism might underlie rapid alterations. Adenosine has previously been shown to inhibit a variety of cellular functions, including platelet aggregation, expression of tissue factor or adhesion molecules, and cytokine release by activated ECs.11 Our observation of decreased ATP and ADP concomitant with an increase of adenosine correlates with the simultaneous measurement of reduced in vitro aggregation in response to the culture supernatants. As thrombin is a potent agonist for a number of biological responses that may mediate inflammatory and reparative responses to vascular injury, 27 patients with increased thrombin generation are considered to be at enhanced cardiovascular risk.28 It was shown that thrombin levels in hypercholesteremic patients are enhanced.29 Protease-activating receptor PAR ; signaling pathways that mediate cellular effects of thrombin involve the activation of Rho-GTPases; PAR-1 receptors are not only found on platelets but also on.
History of Epogen
It is important to note that when treating life-threatening anemia, the only effective therapy is immediate blood transfusion, as it can take six weeks for procrit or epogen to reverse the anemic state and erbitux.

Diagnostic approaches to TB have been virtually unchanged for many years and there is or urgent need for rapid accurate diagnosis of TB, especially MDR-TB. Using standard microbiological techniques with solid or liquid culture medium Mycobacterium tuberculosis may take between 3 and 15 weeks to grow. Modifications of these standard techniques have been used to cut this time interval by almost a half 44, 45. Recent developments have produced new molecular strategies for diagnosis46. The application of PCR to sputum samples is hindered by the samples infectiousness and the potential presence of PCR inhibitors, and the difficulty in obtaining sputum samples. To overcome this DNA, from MTB can be amplified by PCR from peripheral blood mononuclear cells47. These techniques require complex methods and expensive equipment and are often not suitable for developing countries. Even in the most experienced laboratories the sensitivity of detection may be inadequate with some of these techniques48-50 and epogen.
