Clinical implications of results Although there was no difference in patient or graft survival, a 48% reduction in acute rejection is a clinically significant finding. At 1 year the patients treated with tacrolimus still had about five times the risk of post-transplant diabetes mellitus compared with patients treated with cyclosporin.
